Andrew T. Miller, The Composer
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Andrew is an acclaimed pianist, award winning composer, Sony/BMG Masterworks Artist as well as a Steinway Artist.
The creative and mentoring force driving his two Tacoma area music studios, Mr. Miller has written a variety of original music across genres, ranging from choral to contemporary, pop, rock, and musical theater, to full-scale orchestral and symphonic works, which have been performed nationally, and internationally.
Mr. Miller had the privilege of conducting a performance of his Christmas cantata "The Birth of Christ" at Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland, just a block from where Handel premiered his "Messiah" in 1742. Video and audio recordings of the project, narrated by noted actor Liam Neeson, were featured as a PBS special, and earned Mr. Miller his Sony Artist credential, a seven-year contract to present the work, and an invitation to bring the work to the Vatican and Festiva di Pasqua to perform on the highest of holy days in Rome, Italy.
For the performance in Rome, Mr. Miller was joined by internationally-acclaimed opera singers and award-winning actors, including Jim Caviezel, Academy Award winner Louis Gossett, Jr., and Emmy Award winner Michael York.
Mr. Miller made his Carnegie Hall debut through an invitation from producer Lynn Geyer, and has been interviewed locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, including on EWTN, KCTS, WLIW New York, and RAI Italy.
His role on THE COMPOSER highlights his continued work with emerging and established artists, through the process of creating original music in varied genres specific to each artist’s unique needs and gifts.
